Dr. Richard de Ramón
Plastic Surgery is the specialty that seeks to restore both the function and form of the human body and one which can alter the form, shape, or size of body parts to establish more “ideal” proportions or aesthetics. It encompasses patients of all ages with varied reconstructive and cosmetic issues and all areas of the body. I specialize in cosmetic surgery of the face and body as well as the removal of skin cancers and reconstruction of any areas involved.
At de Ramón Plastic Surgery Institute, I provide patients with state of the art plastic surgery and cosmetic services utilizing proven and reliable procedures. I don’t offer fad procedures that haven’t been peer-reviewed or haven’t stood the test of time. Just because a procedure is new, doesn’t mean it’s safe, that the result of the procedure will last very long or that it’s better than accepted “gold standard” procedures. Especially in plastic surgery, new procedures are always being developed, but some are abandoned because their effect is transient or unanticipated issues develop with time, or because they prove to be inferior to existing procedures. Instead, I offer procedures and services that are well accepted by the plastic surgical community and the public.
I believe in lifelong learning. I attend conferences every year, read plastic surgery journals, discuss cases with colleagues when necessary, read textbooks, attend webinars on new technology and procedures, read online journals, view surgery online and on DVD’s, and stay immersed in plastic surgery. However, most board-certified plastic surgeons know the same basic information. What separates surgeons and results is the judgment that develops over time combined with an innate ability to see the results and execute the procedures. This is important in achieving great results and happy patients by knowing how much to do and what not to do. We all see “overdone” results in the media and nobody wants that.
Just as important as what we do is how we do it. We provide the very best plastic surgical care in a friendly, confidential, and professional atmosphere. My explanations are clear and educational. I provide you with reliable and current information about the procedures you’re contemplating. I encourage questions. This way you can make a fully informed decision. If you’re not a good candidate for a procedure that you are considering, I will tell you and give you alternatives.
At surgery, the procedures are performed with meticulous attention to detail. My focus is the result, and my goal is to deliver superb results, consistently. While some surgeons take pride in the speed of their surgeries, I take pride in the results.
Postoperatively, I will be available to you should you have questions or problems. I will see you as frequently as necessary to ensure a smooth recovery.
This care philosophy has helped me obtain great results and unparalleled patient satisfaction.
